Does anyone know of a reliable ISP?  Eurona Costa Blanca used to be very good but is now on the slippery slope, the download speed having dropped to not much more than half what it was initially and the upload speed now being pathetic.  The service used to be reliable but is not now, with quite long interruptions to the service.

We supply and run a few different services ourselves - we use (but do not supply) Eurona / Costa Blanca Broadband,

10.48 a.m  3.86Mbps down. 0.75Mbps up.  Download speed we are contracted with should be 8. Upload with the microwave services (any) has always been slow. Rebooted router. 4.5 Mbps download, 0.75Mbps up.

To get much faster download or upload speed you would either need to switch to a landline or 4G.  Presently on Movistar 4G unlimited, 15Mbps download (slowest seen it this week) and 15.43 upload.  Rebooted router 39.8 Mbps down & 14.21 Mbps up.

We install Telitec wireless service which can give up to 6Mbps if signal available in your location (though not sure for your application this would give a great deal of improvement - more stable, but speed not hugely different)  & also offer the top of the range 4G unlimited service, which is in a different league performance wise (again if signal available), but you pay the price for a top flight service.

Balancing performance against cost, would see if you can get landline ADSL first - if you require any assistance, we can run check with Telefonica as to likely situation.

Hi,

We have a list of Internet Service providers on our sister forum for Quesada and surrounding areas. La Marina isn't far from Quesada and all of these providers would probably cover most of the Costa Blanca and your area (See link) You could look at their websites and compare or email them:

I have been  with La Caixa for about ten years and I'm very happy with them.

I get free banking all the while my pension goes into the account, and their internet banking is easy to use.

They have a branch on the urbanisation and another in the village.

Geoff.
