My partner and I are less than 2 years from retirement.

We both have NIE numbers and a Spanish bank account plus proof of a works pension as well as state pensions.

We have already purchased a house and now want to apply for residency.

Can anyone tell us what more we need and can we do this in Elche ?

Thanks

Are you now resident here? If not, you can't apply for residencia.

Requirements additional to what you've said:

Passport and copy.

Proof of health cover, either public or private.

You confuse me by saying you're two years from retirement but can show proof of state pension. Have you had an S1 from DWP Newcastle, and then got SIPs here?

EX-18 application form. Right-click and download (can also download a copy in English to help completion):

http://extranjeros.empleo.gob.es/es/ModelosSolicitudes/Mod_solicitudes2/index.html

790 payment form, either from the national police station, or complete online and download:

https://sede.policia.gob.es:38089/Tasa790_012/ImpresoRellenar

You'll probably also need an appointment at the police station.

Yes you can do it at Elche.

NOTE FOR JAN:

Hi Jan. I've not been on this forum for long, although I'm a long-time member of the original LM forum. I'm already seeing the same question being asked in various of the sub-forums here. I'd appreciate it if you'd give some though to a separate 'How To' sub-forum, where topics like residencia, NIE, change of driving license, transfer of a vehicle, importance of the correct jurisdiction clause in a Spanish will, etc, etc, could all be covered and easily accessible.

cheers

Jim

We want to stay from January 2019 when my partner retires.

What I meant was that we can prove he has a private works pension which matures on 30th Jan 2018.

We both still work in the UK so go back and forth monthly.

Thanks for the reply we will look into health care.  X
