Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced contact / method of getting from Alicante Airport to Torreta 11, Torrevieja  - and a return journey for a set price that means I don't have to rob a bank?  The Buses only go to the Station which involves another lift to my final destination

 - need someone for a pick up/return in May 2017 (17th - 27th)

I would recommend that you only use a legally licensed Spanish taxi company.

There are plenty of unlicensed operators around who will do the job for you, often more cheaply, but in the event of a police check (which are happening a lot) the passengers in the car can be fined heavily as well as the driver, and the car confiscated.

Then there is the question of insurance validity too.

Better to be safe than take a chance just to save a few Euros. But that's only my opinion!

Geoff.

Not condoning the illegal operators....but surely the police would need to prove the journey is a paid journey. So, if all concerned said no money was exchanged and it was just friends or family then no fine could be imposed or vehicle confiscated?

Hi Chezste,

It's truly amazing what is said when people are injured or cars are damaged in an accident.... best stick to the rules! 😳🌞🌞
