Hi, we are in the process of having a will made in Spain (highly advisesble) our solicitor is very clued up and says we must make one in Spain for the Spanish property but in the format of English law!  This will then be just like your English will and will go to whoever you bequeathe. If not...Spanish law dictates your property HAS to be divided into thirds..one third HAS to go to dependents wether you wish it or not.  I have heard somewhere that the Spanish government can also collect a substantial tax from the estate if not done as described above.

Our lawyer is charging 200€ but for me it's worth every penny.

Call Carmen conejero, Spain (+34) 609 31 84 55, perfect English, young and very clued up.

200€ for a will is well above market rate. Get a few quotes. It takes 10 mins and 2 mins with the notary. Shouldn't be paying anymore than 150€

Forgot to add I am in a 3 bed semi and my buildings and contents insurance is 180e. I get it through my bank. Could get it a bit cheaper if I shopped around but cannot be bothered .

10 mins with a notary!....how comprehensive can that be, all done in English and in English law?......you get what you pay for and I can sleep at night knowing my place will go where I want it to go.

Hey ho, you pays your money you take the risk
