Hello Everett.. We are a couple, Peter and Joan, and have lived in Guardamar del Segura for nearly sixteen years. This is 35 kilometres south of Alicante.

Our town normally has about 17,000 residents in winter, increasing to 100,00 in summer, with thousands of people from Madrid who own properties here. This year, with the pandemic, the usual festivities had to be cancelled, eg San Juan, on 24 and 25th June, and the Moors and Christians in the third week of July, which usually runs for about 9 or 10 days.

We have 11 kilometres of beach, and a piñada (pine forest), and two parks. Our temperatures are around 3 degrees less than Murcia, to the southwest, but humid.

We have a good mix of people from around Europe, especially Russians, Scandanavians, and the British Isles.

Best wishes, Joan Green
