There is a bar/café on the back corner of the Mercadona block known as the corner bar and lots of Brits use it.

Hello thank you for that, not  sure where that is, just house hunting at the moment and only had a drive around earlier today before returning back to UK, We have enquired about a property and waiting to hear back, hopefully returning back in a few weeks

Hi Pauline

There is a good ex pat community in Albatera. There is a European Residents Association that meet every month to discuss local issues and there is a councillor who attends that is assigned for European Residents in the town. There are also some social events arranged through this group as well- there is a FB group you could join for further information.

We spend our winters in Albatera and love it as there is a good mix of nationalities whilst still being a very Spanish town.

Good luck with your house search - and just for information the Corner Bar (which was a meeting place for Brits) has closed down.

If we can be of more help please get in touch.

Deb

Hi Deb, not that I've ever been there but when did the Corner Bar close?

Hi Pauline

I believe the nearest hotel would probably be in Elche, there's a Hotel Camponile there.  I'm not aware of anywhere closer (but I could be wrong about that!!)

According to Google Maps, there's nowhere in Albatera, but plenty in the surrounding area, with Granja being the nearest and easiest to get to:
