Hi

We've just bought a  mobile home @ El Paraiso Caravan park near Albert.

We have NIE numbers but we're non residents - we'll be using it as a holiday home under the 90 day rules.

Would be grateful for any advice regarding tax(s) that we'll be liable for & any legal forms/paperwork that we'll need to complete.

Thank you

Hi Denise and congratulations on your purchase,

Hopefully, you're already aware of the annual taxes and charges levied by your Ayuntamiento (Town Hall), i.e.  IBI (Council Tax), Basura (refuse collection), plus any site fees.

In addition, you will be liable to pay Non-resident tax, form Modelo 210, based on the Valor Catastral (Land Registry) value of your property.  The Spanish tax year runs from 1 January to 31 December - the deadline for Non-resident tax is 31 December following the end of each tax year, i.e. as you purchased your property in May 2023, your first tax return will be due by 31 December 2024.  Many members submit their own Non-resident tax returns; alternatively, you could pay a gestor to do this for you - you may wish to ask for specific recommendations.

Kind regards,

Kim
