Mr. O’Leary owes me £300.00 but that’s another story, Ryanair have flights available to fly into Alicante July 12th to July 18th, very reasonable price.

I want to view a mobile home for sale which I’ve had an eye on for over a month, (I was a hippy then, I’m bald now) tearing my hair out with frustration trying to get out there to view it.

Two basic questions I want answering; Do you think flights will be coming in from Uk (my airport, Liverpool) carrying holiday makers & secondly, I/we will need a cheap/reasonable hotel near Albatera, oh & will stuff be open. Our main criteria is to view a property with an intention to move out in less than 2 years but a kinda holiday also would be nice.

Look fwd to all comments/info,

Regards Neil & Babs

Unless there is another spike then the borders will be open and I assume Boris will have dropped the mandatory quarantine on your return as that seems to be the only sticking point.
There are a few mobile home sites in Albatera but they do come with quite high monthly fees.
Everything is slowly opening up but masks are still mandatory in urban settings and social distancing is still in force.
Albatera is a real Spanish town still and doesn't have much call for hotels but if you look at https://laspalmerasresort.com/en/ it is just down the road on the edge of Crevillente.

Everything is open for business and CriminalAir will be flying.

Ryanair is basically an unscrupulous taxi service. I haven’t looked at easyJet, glad to know things are getting back to normal. Cheers.

Hi Neil and Babs we like you bought a mobile home in Albatera , we viewed in August , offered and finally purchased in October. Like yourselves a holiday home for next three year’s then moving out  permanently, so will spend next few years getting it ready. We got out in February but had Easter and Whitsun cancelled due to the pandemic. When we bought our we had already viewed so only going over to sign (we were told you have to sign in person plus your contract for the site is seperate so you sign that too) . As we were signing and flew in late we picked up hire car And stayed in the campanile hotel in Elche which was only 10 mins from the Airport. It was only €35 pre booked but was basic and clean. We then travelled to our site the next day. Sites do have monthly fees but depends on your preference. We preferred mobile homes rather than bricks And mortar. There are about 3 main sites in Albatera but be mindful one or two of them are a long walk away. The town we find fabulous, it is Spanish and we are learning Spanish as we intend to live there but there is plenty of English speaking Spaniards around and everyone is friendly , the language has never caused us any issues.  Give us a nod if you need any help

Hi Glenn,

Many thanks for your response, I've done a bit of homework on Albatera and it looks like a nice place to live also very central to all locations with good links. The mobile home we are wanting to view is outside Albetera, I reckon about 2km, its difficult to judge by google earth. Its defo north of the town maybe slightly north west, there are only 8 plots in a straight line, electric gate at end of the lane. I'm guessing its a farmer owned land area, its in amongst almond trees etc. There are no facilities and so the site fees are quite dear at 3,200 euros per anum but the purchase cost is cheap and it sits on 360m2 plot. The pictures look great and it seems a bargain. To us, its a stepping stone, moreover an affordable stepping stone at the moment.

We were really chuffed to read your message last night, its reassuring other brits are on the same wavelength. I have looked at other mobile home sites in & around the area online, and intend to look at others as & when we can get out there, (its looking like middle July if all's well), if you could be good enough to give us a heads up on any worth a look round we would be very grateful. Like you we are going down the static route at first as you don't have to invest a lot of money, dipping your toe in the water, as they say.

Look forward to keeping in touch.

Cheers Neil & Barbara.
