Quite right Brian. No one knows but do you think the Spanish are going to cut off their nose to spite their face. Their economy would be very severely affected if they made ex pats leave. Also what about the expats who now have residencia in the country. I have a villa in Spain and have had it for 12 years. Must admit I hope the referendum votes to remain as the 'no one knows' also applies to this country and it's economy.

I don't feel there is any need to be rude to me I asked a question and was given some answers that has put my mind at rest I am not stupid nor nieve as this this is not something we have done in a whim we shave planing this for about 3 years.

I ment it puts my mind at rest that others are still moving over and that they feel that they don't have grave concerns.

That was not my point swcoulthurst :-)  I was just pointing out that the first answer of 'don't know' is correct and factual and the rest is speculation. I would not feel more secure on the basis of speculation, as I can speculate as well as anyone else :-)

Hello Nick. I really cannot see anything in my post that is rude.  I thought you wanted views. You have taken some. I gave a view. You did not like it. I would be interested to know why you feel the speculation of other people you do not know, and whose expertise you have no basis to judge, can speculate better than you can. This is especially the case as you now state you have been planning this for three years, etc, etc.

Nonetheless, if you feel I have been rude I apologise.

Thank you this was a big step for us and now coming up to leaving uk and gets a little worrying.

Hi

I do understand your worry but there are many people who own homes in Spain from non EU countries. Norwegians have also bought homes in Spain and they refused to join the EU. We have a holiday home and personally I am not worried because the way I see it, is if UK vote to leave and Spain made it difficult for Expats from the UK,they would have to do the same to Expats and holiday home owners and renters from other countries not in the EU and then the  Spanish economy would suffer badly, in fact places like Benidorm could almost cease to function! Expats and holiday-makers bring in much needed funds to Spain and a large majority are British so for Spain to make it difficult for us would seem like economic suicide in my opinion.

Well folks it looks like we will gradually find out the answer!

Fairly stunned here to be honest. Great Britain just voted to become Little England 😕
