Thinking of retiring to Spain. I am aware of all the Brexit discussions but i am more concerned to find somewhere where crime is still low and the area is usually friendly towards expats. looking at property in Albatera but would like to hear from Brits who are already living there. Is it better to live in village or outside village? Any info on living there would be helpful in choosing what area to look into further .Public transport links to Alicante Airport are important. We are both in our 60s.

Thank you Nicola. We were looking at a villa not far from town. As a holiday home at first with a view to retiring there. Only looked on internet so if an area seems ok would stay in area and look around. Are the statics near the town? Is it necessary to drive there? Worry about security if villa is by itself. I have lived in Spain before but it is many years ago and times change. As you get older you have different concerns. Thought of villa as we have pets we couldn't leave behind. Is there a vets in the town. Sorry to ask so many questions. It was good of you to reply. Was looking elsewhere as I thought no Brits must be in Albatera. Any info you can give would be very helpful. Kind Regards Jackie.

Hi Jackie

We walk into town from our static home site it's only a 10 min walk.

Yes there is a vets in the town which people on our site use.

Our site is nice as it's closer enough to town but far enough away.

We have people we know who live in villas which are mainly in the campo but they do worry as when they go home it is the

Security they worry about as they are on their own and no one to watch home while not there.

What pets do you have as our site takes up to 2 pets per home.

If you would like to know about anything else or want to look at the site we are on when you are over next please let me know and I can show you around.

We work for Caravans in the sun so we know what it is like to live in a static home full time.

Kind Regards

Nicola
