If you are on holiday, you can present your EHIC at a health centre/hospital if you need services

If you are planning to live here, you need private health insurance (to gain Residencia). Choose an insurer who works with your local GP surgery.

"I have recently moved from England to Albatera" seems reasonably unambiguous but hey ho. 

If you have indeed moved with the intention of staying then technically you are already resident although of course you still need to attend to the formalities of that which I wouldn't delay in getting on with, private health insurance forms a necessary part of that of course but I'm assuming you already know that.

In the interim while you cannot actually register with a doctor you can make an ad hoc appointment to see one, how that would work in in detail, and where you could go for it, I would expect to be down to your insurer. 

Until you have that insurance place you can temporarily use your EHIC but once you have obtained residence that will no longer be valid and in any case unless there is some sort of agreement between UK and Spain/the EU before hand to the contrary all EHICs will automatically become invalid on Dec 31st.

You have not asked for an English speaking doctor so maybe you do speak Spanish but for the record anyway you should note that in the Albatera public clinic you MUST either speak Spanish or have an interpreter with you, there are notices there to that effect and reception will not deal with you otherwise. 

You might also take note that there is only one doctor there who speaks English and his list is full so is not taking any more patients. Whether or not you could present with an EHIC and ask for an appointment with him specifically I have no idea but even if you could you might find quite a long wait, a couple of weeks perhaps. 

It's my understanding that there are one or two private doctors/clinics in the area but can offer no further information on that.
