Quick question to settle a disagreement.

For those who have recently obtained residence were you required to show a padron or not and if yes at which police station (or other location) was that?

We acquired residency on the 19th June and yes, had to show Padron, certificate from bank, copies of passports and a passport photo. We were accompanied by a gestor at Denia Police Station.

Thanks, what I expected to hear although I believe not correct, I think the actual law says proof of residency is required BEFORE a padron is issued but I haven't found it yet.

Certainly makes more sense that way round as we all know that only residents are supposed to be on it.

Totally understand your statement, are you resident and if so did you need a padron or have the Spanish authorities moved the goalposts again like they have on income/savings amounts? and where UK citizens can obtain residency? Any way I obtained a 3 month temporary padron on line for my Residencia application and I am sure this has been discussed before on another post, good luck on your findings and hope you share the outcome, stay safe and healthy.

You need to be on the padrón, but you don't need to show it as the police do an online check of the padrón database. If you aren't on that database, they won't process a residency application.

Hi, that’s good news I hope regarding online temporary Padron.
After 32 hour journey in total we are finally settling into our rental in Cabo Roig. Today mainly unpacking and resting but tomorrow start in earnest to sort out our Residencia . First step NIE and contacting Uma again

You’ve all been so helpful thank you

Forget the NIE - that can be allocated as part of the TIE application process. If you look at the EX-20, it isn't a mandatory field.

Jim

I appreciate this but we need the NIE to buy a car and other stuff. Our car is UK one. I emailed Uma who suggested we get that first and then the Padron. Unfortunately UK documents run out before our Padron Appointment and can’t get them replaced due to Covid. It’s getting very difficult in UK now to get docs
