Hi, I've recently purchased a property and have no idea when the chimney was last swept....or if at all? Can anyone recommend someone local or give any guidance or how to do this myself. The chimney is a standard looking one attached at the base to a log burner.

Many Thanks

Yellow pages shows the nearest 'deshollinador' at Muro de Alcoy, but there could be others who don't have an entry in yellow pages.

I suggest you ask at a chimenea shop.

You could also ask if they sell 'eliminador hollin' - a powder you put on the fire when it's up to speed, and the fumes it produces encourage the soot to fall back down.

But is it really a conventional chimney, or has it got a circular flue pipe running up it? They don't usually need sweeping, unless the pipe has ninety degree bends in it.

Thanks for that Jim, most helpful.

I'm not sure about the flu pipe I need to take a closer look and go from there.

Much Appreciated.
