Hi,

My name is Maggie and I hope to move to Alcoi in November '22. I am originally from Vancouver,  Canada,  but have worked and lived in London and other parts of Europe since 2011.

I am not going to have a vehicle and just wanted to know if there is a good transport system in the city....buses, trains, trams to get to other destinations. Within the city, I am fine. Will probably get myself a bike and walk a lot. Best way to discover things in a new environment.

I am still looking for a studio, preferably 1 bedroom place somewhere in the thick of things. Historical Alcoi looks interesting. I love the wrought iron balconies in the old apartments, reminds me of Paris. I would love to get something with a terrace, so that I could plant a few things in pots.

Would love to get some feedback! Have a lovely weekend.

Alcoi is a lovely place. Buses yes! Trams and trains, I'm afraid not. Alcoi and Concentiana blend into one. Spanish is essential and its actually Valenciana. If you you have specific questions, just ask.

Thanks for that. I think a better option for me then will be Denia.

Cheers!

Hi there, Denia is a lovely small town, and has a train that goes all the way to Alicante city. The centre is very picturesque and a good mixture of spanish and foreigners.

It would be my choice.

Good luck.

Yes, I think Denia is up there for me.

I spent 2 weeks there in April.

Apartments are a bit pricey though, for a single person. I did manage to find a place in my price range. Still have Chania (Crete) as an option.  A beautiful city...not too big, but still vibrant throughout the winter months.  The Venetian harbour and Old Town are breathtaking.

We will see.
