Hello everyone! My name is Nick and I would like to move to Alcoy from the UK in the next few months. I've been putting it off for years as my Spanish is not good but now Brexit has been confirmed I feel its now or never. I can't seem to find and British expats in the Alcoy area from a Google search but whether an expat or not, I would really like to make contact and becoming friends with anyone in that area that can speak a little English and a lot of Spanish! I'm in my mid 40's. First step is finding a long term rental, settling in, then improving my Spanish. Thanks for looking.....saludos!

Hi Nick, we live in the countryside of Alcoy, there are some English people in and around but not many, I know a good estate agent who is Spanish but speaks English, he may be able to find you a rental, if you would like any more details let me know I will private message you, regards Dawn & Ray

Hello Nick I have owned a property further inland from Alcoy for over ten years and have recently started spending more time there. At the moment I travel to the coast to socialise but would like to find friends in Alcoy or concentaina which is much nearer for me. I like to go to bars with live music and dancing.

Hi we moved to Muro about 3 months ago , we are a couple in our fifties .

We are settling in well despite all the recent rain and floods but would still like to make some friends.

Hi Caroline

Thanks for your reply. I travel towards the coast for entertainment but was hoping with more expats moving to the area that maybe a bar who provides live music will open as in the other villages near the coast. Its probably wishful thinking. I did see a bar in Cocentaina run by brits a few years ago but have been moving around and not stayed in my property for long periods before but plan to this year.

Regards

Carol
