Are you in Spain or the U.K.? I’m not sure you can open a bank account remotely, I think you need to present yourself.

I know that you can’t close an account, given the number of posts recently, without being able to visit the branch personally.

This is also the reason members advise opening an account at a branch that is local to your home; if at a later date you decide to change banks/ branch, you have to attend to do it

Thanks Ray , we’re moving over in September but concerned that we won’t have 3 months of bank statements until December which then may be too late after getting TIE to exchange our driving licences.

I have now managed to get their email address from their customer service help desk , so just waiting for a reply.

I’m opening an account with Sabadell in El Campello. I was able to go through all the preliminaries over the internet whilst in the UK, and they referred me to my local branch to finalise the matter. The El Campello branch contacted me today to arrange an interview in the branch next week. So far I’ve been very happy with their service.

Hi , thank you. I emailed them on Wednesday and have had no reply but managed to speak to someone in Almoradi branch and now have an appointment, thank goodness.Looking forward to what 2021 brings & hopefully but not very optimistic that we’ll be able to exchange our driving licences before the end of this year.
