Hi we have just been informed that San javea airport is closing down January 2019
Could you tell me if another airport opened in the Murcia region ?
Or will Alicante be the only regional airport
We love San javea no hassle quiet
In and out in no time

San Javier is closing because the one at Corvera is (supposedly) finally opening and all operations and flights will be transferred over. I think the latest copy of Costa Blanca News (came out last friday) has an article about it.

Very bad news re San Javier! Best airport in the world bar none. So easy on arrival and departure.

Hi yes it is due for closure either later this year or early next,but don't despair,there is an airport st Corvera ,that has been built for a long time,but never opened,so that would be your nearest to st Javier,but depending on where you live Alicante might be nearer for you,we live twenty minutes from st Javier,and Corvera is about another seven klm from us, so you would need to check it out. Hope this helps.
Thank you we go to algorfa which is at this present time 45 mins from Alicante and San javea not sure if corvera is a little further in time

From Algorfa, Alicante airport is thirty minutes away. Corvera will be at least forty-five minutes, and will mean putting up with the horrible motorway stretch around Murcia. It's due to open in 2019, but how many operators will fly into it is a total unknown at the moment. Even when it's open, I'll be encouraging visitors to fly into Alicante.
