On the last day before the lockdown (friday) just agreed to buy a property in Montemar Algorfa , through the estate agent. In the coming week we will be contacted by our , as yet unknown solicitor. All advice , tips , will be very welcome for us as first time buyers.

Hire your own solicitor independent of the estate agency. Get him/her to check everything and if there is a deposit let solicitor deal with that

Not sure what you mean by "as yet unknown solicitor". YOU need to appoint your own solicitor who works exclusively on your behalf. To do that properly your solicitor must be independent of the estate agents and not used by the vendors. Start emailing various solicitors in the area and ask questions about their services, then speak to your favourite two or three on the phone and make your choice that way as you are not able to visit them in person under the current circumstances.
Thanks for replying , at that moment in time I did not know the lawyers name , since then I have spoken to him , and gone through reviews of his business , costs were made crystal clear , we are happy with the process , though the final purchase has been delayed because of the Corona virus .
