Hi there

we are considering purchasing an apartment in either the Fontana 1 or Fontana 2 complex in Algorfa and interested if finding some information relating to the following:

Has there been any problems with the apartments or these complexes?

How many bars/restaurants are still present in the square in Algorfa?

Have any bars in Algorfa gone out of business due to covid?

What's the average purchase price in euros for an apartment in one of these complexes?

Is Algorfa a good place for a holiday home an living there full time?

Would really appreciate some information please.

Given that you posted this 2 days ago and no ones answered you yet I’ll do my best..

I haven’t seen in any of the groups on fb anyone post about having issues in the Fontana apts, esp after the gota fría last year,if apts withstood that then I can’t see anything else causing an issue….

I know the Orange tree and 2 others shut down this past while, but still plenty of bars/restaurants centered around the square and a few in and around the side streets, you’d be spoilt for choice, the square has a great vibe and a great mix of nationalities

I look at properties every night, most of them in Fontana are advertised around the €72k mark, Algorfa is a beautiful village and you also aren’t too far from the la finca center which has a few bars and restaurants too

I find Algorfa pretty central to get out and about and I manage fine by using taxis, it’s only around 10 minutes from the next towns like Almoradi, quesada ,los monestinos…so easy enough if you fancy a change of scenery

I only purchased 2 years ago ( Montemar urb just round from the hotel) I find most people very friendly and welcoming, one thing I will say when it comes to buying, we went in at full asking price on our property of 70k, paid our deposit and then got valuation it valued up at 60k, so make sure your aware the same could happen to you…

I take it your in the “ we love Algorfa “ group on Facebook, if not, join that, many Fontana owners who’ll be able to answer your questions with more knowledge than me

I am guessing your name is Trish, however, thanks for your information it is really appreciated and gives us more confidence in buying in Algorfa. We are hoping to get over in late August to view some apartments and surrounding areas as i always prefer to view in person before purchasing. Your views on Algorfa are very encouraging and thanks once again.

Kind Regards George & Lori

Hi, Algorfa is a really nice place.

People are really welcoming and it is a really safe place to stay and live.

Me and my wife visite algorfa a few times to get to know the people and area, before putting our offer in april 2020 and finally picked our keys up in September.

We have just visited 2 weeks ago for the festival, which was fantastic and great to see people having fun again.

We are really glad we bought in Algorfa, and have made lots of new friends in such a short space of time.

As the recent person said, there is a few places closed but there are still lots of places and choices to visit.

Great breakfast at la messa with Stuart.

Great sunday lunch with jill at the Yorkshire pud inn.

Bombay restaurant, debs pizza and jillys bar and then you have

Babaluke and taberna in the square as well as a community bar.

Money has just been spent on the new municipal pool along with an authentic spanish tapas bar.

Andrea will always give helpful advice in the post office and the chemist is great too.

Takes around 35 mins from alicante airport.

Guardamar beach is 15 mins drive away and othe towns like quesada almoradi and benijofar are all close by.

Alfie at magnum cars is my go to car hire place on every visit due to no excessive charges and meets you at the airport.

You will find lots of properties with different prices ranges, all dependent on what you need.

We bought a penthouse on cecilia, with a shared pool.

Really clean and people are fab.

Hopefully you will find out more on your visit, and find your dream in spain

Kind regards

Dave

Hi, we’re in Fontana 2 and love it. We also like being in Algorfa as it has a mix of Europeans and also the Spanish that live there. Only 15 minutes in car to the nearest beach and also near motorway too.

There are several restaurants, both Spanish and English. Under normal circumstances there is lots going on in the square during the summer such as live music, outdoor cinema etc. It has a really nice village atmosphere. Happy apartment hunting.

Hi George,

I had an apartment in Fontana 3 from 2006 until 2019 and never really found what attracted me to the village. I had the same feeling the first time I visited it, to the time we signed at the Notary until the last visit I made just before Covid hit. I saw lots of changes over that time and our apartment had views out towards La Finca and with the addition of the orange groves, it makes a more pleasant view.

The management team in Fontana 3 has improved and with a heated pool, security camera's and regular maintenance program in place, things are moving in the right direction.

Local shops provide a very good service and are competitive on prices.

If you are looking for a Penthouse, then a friend of mine is selling his and is ready to move into. I can put you in touch with him.

Dave

Hi Dave

Thanks again we are looking at apartments with solarium and also on all floors apart from ground floor apartments.

If your friends apartment is on for sale with an estate agent then there is a good chance we have viewed online.

But please inform your friend to send information on his apartment and I will get back to him, my email address is [email protected]

Best regards George
