Hi all, we are purchasing a holiday home in Montemar which I’m sure you are aware is a stones throw from La Finca Golf resort.

We have searched and been over a few times and this seemed the perfect area for our needs/budget.

Just wondering if there is anyone else in the area too?

Been reading for a while and have gained some useful do’s/dont’s already so thanks in advance and thought I would create my first post and introduce myself.

Look forward to posting lots in the future!

It may help with some of the queries that you will have if you have a look at Jim’s Guides on this site.   A couple of other helpful sites are:    Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for general queries and N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   The latter is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Hi, we were also serious about buying there, but was not sure if there were many full time people living there, as it was quiet on the day we walked around. May I ask if you happen to know if there is a reasonable amount of people living there all year?

We liked the peaceful and lovely location, decent local restaurants, nice looking area, short walk down to village and the square. Good Central location too.

We went out of season twice and yes it’s quiet which is what we wanted especially at night.

Think it is a mixture of holiday homes etc from my limited knowledge/trips over which again is what we wanted and quite central for all our needs. I would say that a car is preferable and may put people off, but we have no problem hiring/driving a car when we are there.

Thanks, yes, we looked at La Marina Urbanization, did not like it, not our scene.
