Hi

I bought an apartment in Fontana 1 in May this year and I’m loving spending time there. I’ve heard there are breakfast meeting in the area where there is advise sessions about a range of subjects to help brits with things like how they could, in the longer term spend more than 90 out of 180 days in Europe. Anyone out there know where these sessions are held or got a link to the organisation that provides them. Thanks for any info.

To stay longer than 90 days you’ll need the Non Lucrative Visa.

Thanks for the reply. I have read about Non Lucrative Visas But I’m trying to work out if savings count as I think I will only work for another 1-2 years max.

"spend more than 90 out of 180 days in Europe"

There is no legal way of bypassing the 90 in 180 rules, full stop......

If they advise you of anything different they are encouraging you to break the rules which could end up being fined up to €10,000 or even banned for up to 5 years.

Yes you can apply for the non lucrative visa. It is quite a long drawn out process. If you gain the visa you will be expected to apply for residency within the first month of arrival in Spain otherwise it becomes void.

For the NLV you will need to prove that you have an income of around €28,000 per annum plus around €6500 for each additional family member.

You will need full healthcare paid privately or through the S1 healthcare scheme which is paid for by the UK government.

There will be other documents to submit like your birth certificate or marriage certificate translated into Spanish.

There will be a police background check to submit too.

All these things take time and can't be used to overrule the 90 day rule. The Spanish government know of every trick.

Don't get persuaded to try and break the rules.

If you go through the NLV process you are applying for residency and will live  and pay tax here. For the first 5 years you would be extremely limited to the amount of time you could spend in the U.K.

Book yourself in at one of the meetings in the link I provided earlier and they’ll be able to explain it to you in full.
