Don´t just install lights!   I fitted lights plus camera and caught my racist neighbour attacking my property.  He would not have been found guilty without!    Find them on ebay, they are cheap and discreet.  The pictures are held on a sim card, only download when you have  problem.

I would go with the advice given by Richard.mains powered  L.E.D. lamps are most definitely  the way forward.  These lamps do seem to be a bit more expensive in Spain than in the U.K. but they pay for themselves over and over again due to the length of time they last ( anything up to 40,000 hrs ), plus the enormous cost savings in energy usage. They also give the added advantage of choice of wattage .

Solar powered lamps usually have a set wattage lamp and  have limited usefulness if intensity of light output is an issue , but do come into their own for decorative effect lighting ,e.g. around garden plants etc . Another disadvantage of Solar powered is their unsuitability in out of the way shaded areas if enough daylight is unable to fall upon their solar charging cells.

Hope that advice helps.

Leckyles.

The camera idea (for me is the best). Movement activated. pan tilt, IR, face detection, and all whilst I´m sitting in a bar in town. I can watch the cats, foxes, pals calling round, burglars ( sound included). All info goes to the "cloud" so no space on your phone! I don´t however have a "Racist" detection device. Lol.
