Hi we are looking to purchase a property in the Alicante area, Algorfa seems to offer good value, does it mean the nightlife is not that good we like to have a choice of bars and restaurants.

Obviously we are not able to get over to get a view.

thanks

Hi,

We don't live in Algorfa, but some of our favourite restaurants are there, on the La Finca golf urbanisation, especially Baybrooks and also Olivos.  However, being part of a golf complex, a higher proportion of properties are holiday homes.  This area is a 5-10 minute drive from the village centre, which is more typically Spanish.  As usual, the village square, where the ayuntamiento (town hall) and church are located, has a selection of cafe bars which serve food.

I don't think a visit this year would give you a good idea of the area, because of Covid-19 restrictions, but previously we have always really liked Algorfa.

Kind regards,

Kim

Algorfa has a chippie, a pizza place, and a couple of Spanish restaurants, if that's your definition of nightlife have at it!

We’ve just made our permanent move to a townhouse we’ve owned for 12 years on a gated Urbanización opposite La Finca golf . It’s very peaceful, there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby . There’s a choice of supermarkets within a 10 minute drive ( a car in my opinion is necessary) 10-15 minutes to beach . Zoco market is a huge Sunday market where we sometimes have breakfast, great value. If you don’t want to be in a touristy area I would highly recommend.

It must be many years since Movingon spent any time in Algorfa as there  must be more than a dozen restaurants & many of the bars also serve food . There is some form of entertainment happening somewhere most evenings ( not Benidorm type of entertainment) but because it’s a small town it’s easier to make friends. I’ve recently joined a ladies group who go out for a meal every month and also do charity fundraising , again a great way to meet people, make friends and there’s always someone who can help with any questions/ issues you might have.

I think this reference is to what was the 'Orange Tree' restaurant which started serving fried food/chips last year.  Sadly the restaurant is now closed which is a real shame, it was a fab place to eat.
