Kind regards

I'm with Ibedrola and I've just paid 49.45 euros for last month usage, which I think is reasonable (compared to UK prices)
Steve
My standing orders (the bit that doesn't equate to actual usage) has stayed static at about 27 euro. Been like that all year since the tax was increased.
Really can't believe the 150 euro a month down to 53 euro with another company. My Iberdrola bills have always been about 55 euro and we live here permanently. Now an average of 57 to 60 euro a month since the taxes have gone back but the highest of 72 euro when we had a lot of aircon last year. And we don't worry about when we use things except the washing machine and dishwasher go on during the cheap period. Nothing else and we don't unplug stuff like they recommend either. Last month's bill was 59.82.
If someone is paying 150 euro a month they have probably got all the insurances going and not on any tariff or having stuff on 24 hours a day. Or on the wrong amount of power contracted.
Plus my fixed rate contract with Iberdrola started in 2021 and is valid until 2031 which I did online. Much better offers online than in store and especially from the stands in the shopping malls. L

Hi Marcliff,
I hope you’re well.
I can attest that my report is 100% accurate and (as far as I know) the only insurance we had that was unnecessary was the 10€ a month service which covered insurance on White goods.
To be fair, this is a comparison of direct debits so I do not know if this is an estimated or actual bill but yes - last full month with Iberdrola 150€ and payment to Octopus this month 53€.
We will see as time passes if this level of reduction is maintained.
Obviously, one can never compare like for like in terms of actual cost though as we all have different sized properties and different electricity uses - however, as a % It should be a reasonable indicator.
Anyway - we are more than happy with the reduction, so can only comment on our personal experience.
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Paul
I switched to Octopus in February and my first bill covered just 8 days. Have you checked the number of days your first bill covered?
Cheers

Hi Steve
Excellent point and well made - I have not had a bill, just the dd come out so, that could indeed highlight the apparent significant saving
What has been your experience in terms of savings with Octopus?
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Paul
You can find your bill on app!
My bills have come down, but heating is our biggest consumer of electricity and the weather has warmed up, making it difficult to compare! I switched to Octopus on the basis of their fixed price per kWh being much better than our Iberdrola tariff, so I expect that over the course of a year Octopus will prove to be cheaper.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Paul, we are non residents and feel our bills are fairly high considering. Did you change online to Octopus?
