Mugged at the services

Yesterday I stopped just before 11am at services Galp on ap 7 heading for Alicante about 3 km before the airport I was sat in my car in front of the cafe there was some men parked behind me shouting and banging on my window as I opened my door one of the men grabbed my left wrist and after a struggle which lasted less than 2 minutes got away with my Rolex watch which I have worn most every day since 1992 which I could never afford to replace I was hoping to leave it for my son I am almost 70 years old but was taken by surprise and could not get out of the seat belt so please be careful the men where in a silver Saab 93 car Spanish reg. looked to be of Eastan European just a WARNING BE CAREFUL please no comments on what I should of done I feel bad enough very bruised tell your friends police have got details and the serial number will be circulated as stolen thanks for reading

Yes, the bad ones are in the minority, there’s still a lot of good people. Please don’t beat yourself up about what has happened, the main thing is that despite some bruising you are okay.

That’s very kind of you to take the time to warn others of the danger. It’s the first time I have heard of a wrist watch being targeted in such a manner. I’m aware of being cautious of over zealous ladies approaching, but I am sure I would likely have lost mine in the same circumstances as you found yourself in.

The main thing is you are unharmed and don’t need to be visited by your son in hospital. Stay safe.
