I haven't misquoted you, Ray, the words in quotes are yours - albeit I may have corrected the odd typo 😉

I think your own communication would be less inflammatory if you exchanged Second Person pronouns (You/Yours) for Third Person Impersonal pronouns (One's/People's).  If you bear that in mind when you re-read your posts, I think you'll understand why I believed your comments were directed at me 🤔

Good to get the misunderstanding sorted.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi d80gs2

I must admit, I’m a bit puzzled be your post. You state that, “you’re right to point out that more often than not, complaints stem from poor communication”. As this is a forum for all things Spanish, I must assume that your statement refers to Spain, rather than in general.

However, you also state that you have had no communication with Hidraqua, Iberdrola or your local ayuntamiento.

Your difficulties with IBI/SUMA appear to have been easily resolved

Your bank, as you say, is in an area with a high population of Brits, and it could therefore be argued that communication difficulties might not be expected

I’m not in least offended by your references to being younger, however, please do not assume that “us oldies” are incapable of using twitter. In fact, this “oldie” has never managed to get herself locked out of the app/internet banking 😉

I “told a little story” of the difficulties I once had with communication, aka not speaking Spanish. Other than that one occasion, I have found the Spanish to be forgiving,  tolerant and more than a little gracious at my lack of Spanish. Maybe I’ve just  been lucky. I choose to think not🤪🥂

Hi d80gs2,

"But to get to the point I guess is that there are so many touch points with the big Spanish banks that means if your local branch is bad you can generally sort stuff out some other way."

I wish that had been the case with the issue I had - it took 8 months to resolve why a new pre-payment card I had ordered (and paid for) couldn't be loaded with funds from my bank account.  I was bounced between my branch and the online team, who were both adamant that I was doing something wrong.  The branch just repeatedly checked that the card was activated - it was, I activated it myself on receipt; the Online team repeatedly confirmed that we had Online Banking activated - I knew that too, I'd been using it for 3 years!

It was eventually resolved when I asked a chance question in my branch, "Our joint account has online banking, but the pre-payment card is in my name only - would that make a difference?"  Yes, it did.  I had to have a separate approval activated for loading my pre-payment card from our joint account.  Imagine if I hadn't asked that question?  It took my personal account manager about 30 seconds to request the additional activation, yet I'd had to wait 8 months to get to that point. Did I receive an apology?   Answers on a postcard..... 😉

Kind regards,

Kim

Aw, come on. I can’t believe you’re saying that. This whole thread was centred on the assertion, by some, that poor communication was the reason for people’s dissatisfaction. Others stated that, rather than poor communication, it was poor service.

You appeared to support poor communication as a likely reason for complaints. My comments were genuine, other than an attempt at humour regarding twitter and locked accounts, which clearly missed the mark.

I was puzzled why you would think poor communication was a problem when it had, apparently, not been your experience.

If I have offended you, then I apologise🤪🥂

My ex partner worked for a short time at a company in the UK which offered the worst kind of customer service in after sale, she said the company policy was effectively to refuse all refunds for shoddy goods and services unless legal action was pending (the typical sale value was around £9000)

I'm not going to name the company but what I can tell you is that they had an extremely good TrustPilot review score.

Go figure...

No pics, it didn't happen! Be careful there, it's extremely dangerous, you can get infected by someone about to send you a letter from China 😁😁😁

Stay Alert, Stay partly alert, Stay Home, Go out and eat a lot, but be aware of obesity, Go out to work, Sleep at the NHS, Save lives but not too many as we need this to burn out, visit your mum in the care home but wear a mask, don't visit at all, you know it all makes sense! Holiday in France but not in Spain, maybe in Italy, but Antigua is definitely ok. Well today it is. And no need to worry, we have a "world beating test and trace App". Actually, we don't, we made that up, just like most days.

God I miss the UK.....

Enjoy the BBQ

Steve

Good Morning,

Can I thank all those who replied to my quiry about Sabadell and can ask one more question. Is it necessary to pay a minimum monthly sum of money into your account.

Thanks

Dave 74

Depends on the account.... We have an expansion account which does require 700€ per month.... But that is a condition of the account that we knew when we signed up.... I don't know what other accounts they have
