Hi
I have a small flat screen from UK which worked well but is not showing picture or sound just no signal message. Have inserted Ariel cable

There is no didgital signal here only analogue.
If your tv is from U.K. (Didgital) it will only work with satellite or online boxs.......
There is a digital signal, all local channels are on digital now but you need to get a TDT box to plug into first then plug that to the tv. The TDT boxes are under 30 euro and can be purchased in pretty much any store that has a TV and audio section.

Go into the TV menu/source. and try changing from analogue to digital and see if this helps. If you live in a flat, it could be shut off.

Sorry not sure what you mean
Is this on the tv?
Do I use the remote?
Or there is something outside my flat front door they re wires up
before the electrics were passed but the panel is cellotapes down
Am I over complicating this?

There should be a button on the remote,"SOURCE"(possibly "MENU") press the button and see what comes up on thEescreen. Choose DTV for digital. ATV for analogue. See if you can get a picture.
If it is disconnected at the street, I'm not sure what to do, but you could enquire with one of your neighbours, they may know. Sorry I can't help more.

I only want Spanish tv so will have another go to try to sort it as you advise . Never had to programme a tv before now but will persevere and sort it
