Apologies if the forum topic is wrong, I though the transport one may be best suited!

I have a need to park at Alicante Train station for around two weeks when I am catching the train to Madrid and wondered if anyone could offer any advice as to where is likely to be the best price / location for me to park?

I checked with Parkopedia but the best price was the main street opposite the station, with a suggestion that I could get a monthly pass for a reasonable rate... I checked with the parking provider and they are not available so I am back to square 1 !!

Any advice offered will be gratefully received.

Thank you

I can't help you with Alicante parking but, depending on where you live, would it be viable to go by train from Elche Carrus or Elche Parque?

Frequent trains, as you can see here:

Hi Do not think it will be cheap to park anywhere in Alicante, have you looked to parking next to 1 of the tram stations enroute from El Campello to Alicante all free parking most have plenty of room, then catch the tram to Alicante Luceros station which is 5 mins walk to mainline station tram will cost about 2 euros per person, for example the parking at El Campello is totally free and 30 mins by tram to Luceros cost 2.45 euros each, 3 trams per hour

Thank you JimTaylor & CarpetMan

Very helpful idea. I had wondered in the past about parking out of the area and getting the tram but wasn't sure a)how frequent the tram/train was and b)if street parking in those areas would be safe?

I will have a look in to both ideas. I appreciate the help :o)

Hi If you are bothered about safety El Campello is your best bet as it is in the centre of town you could even park it across the road in front of apartments then it appears to be parked for the properties rather than the station

Now that is an interesting point because I knew I could show the ticket at the Madrid end for free travel but wasn't aware that it also worked at the Alicante end, not that a few euros will break the bank but as Tesco would say... Every little helps!

Labouring the point here now so apologies!

Our return train gets in at 23:34 I see the last tram out is 23:54 which gives us 20 mins to get the tram.

Are there any suggestions as to where the closest tram stop, (where the tram will actually stop because I saw a note about not all trams stop at all stops?!), will be which will allow us to have on street parking?

Thanks

Hi I think thats a bit tight for last tram, i would not risk it, with regards to tram stops there are 2 trams, 1 stops at every stop which goes every 20 mins and ends at El Campello and the other 1 only stops at 3 stops before El Campello and goes through to Benidorm every 30 mins, it is about 400 meters from Alicante mainline station to nearest tram station at Luceros
