WARNING

Hi All,

Please be aware when ordering goods from Amazon websites.  My high value paid goods (2 US5000 Pylontech solar batteries (cheaper price compared to many DIY stores in Spain and Amazon Spain)) ended up going to another person and arrived in another EU Member State country.  I double checked all my contact details were 100% correct.  My Amazon France account showed that my paid order had been delivered.  My paid order had NOT been delivered.  I had been at home all day and all night and I double checked my gate and also checked with my neighbours.  My Amazon France order had NOT arrived.  Gross negligent error is with FedEx courier transport delivery service or possible theft.  How can my paid order end up being delivered to a totally different person in France, and not to myself directly to my address in Spain?  After a very long online chat battle with Amazon France, the Amazon supervisor  eventually took some action and are now in the process of notifying the Amazon seller about the error with my paid order ending up at another persons address and arriving in another country.  Amazon are now taking action for their legal responsibilities. Truly hope my paid high value goods will arrive at my home address next week, and this does NOT happen to anybody else.

I'm not in the slightest bit surprised.

Spanish couriers are horrendously bad and I don't rate a single one of them.

Except for Amazon, funnily enough. They never fail to deliver to my admittedly awful to find address.

It's always third parties that let you down.

Hi Badger1234
Thank you for your reply.  The comforting fact is that we are not alone.
This is regularly happening throughout Europe.
How many other people have these problems?  Or do they give up?
Snap!  I totally agree with you.
You are very fortunate with deliveries in your area.
However, request your local City Hall to place visible signposts in your area. We all pay taxes, so the finances should be available.

Also, try to be a polite pest and insist any seller and courier service to also use Google Earth location maps.
Along the way there is so much carelessness and theft.
At local, regional, national and international levels I truly hope that our politicians will take action and provide solutions that will work.

Whilst sympathizing, having ourselves had our share of errant deliveries, I would say that Google Maps cannot always be relied upon, as they notoriously have our house in the incorrect site, and I have fielded many calls from distressed transportistas manfully trying to find us!

Hi Stephanie,  Google Earth is perhaps more accurate.  For improvement I proposed this to Amazon, and to courier services.  I have also requested our local mayor also tackles these problems.

Hi Kim, well, yes, we can all live in hope. One of the major problems is the tendency of transport companies to use subcontractors , whom, I believe, are paid by item, not distance. In the type of area in which we live, which, amazingly has signposts , is the distance from the nearest villages, which  discourages drivers. I have often been called and asked to drive down snd collect from the driver..

And my other bete noir is the sudden rash of ridiculous neighbourhood watch notices nailed to trees in the middle of the campo, which I do equate with the arrival of newer residents!

You can correct this listing on Google Maps by right clicking on the location and clicking "report a data problem". A new window will open up on the left and click "wrong pin location or address". Click into this and input your address and the click into the map and move the pin to the correct location.

Usually takes 2 or 3 days to be checked but I find that Google are very reactive to problems.

Thank you for this, Tony, I may well do this when I have time. I think more of the difficulty is that they don’t want to come out here regardless.

Hi Stephanie86, One can have all the EU 30 day delivery rules and regulations ( Shipping and delivery - Your Europe ) in place, and they still fail. Perhaps we should all send an email to Spanish MEPs so they ALL take notice and major improvements are made.  Acting alone progress is very slow or not noticed, but if a large group of people notify Spanish MEPs then possibly something positive will happen.  If we all remain silent then delivery problems get worse.

I think, Kim, that if you wish Spanish MEPs to take notice, then you need to galvanise Spanish nationals, not a cohort of foreign residentes, who are essentially guests in their country, however well intentioned.. And the majority of whom are retired and are reluctant to commit to this kind of action I would imagine. This includes me, and friends!
