I hired a car through "do you spain"  with whom  i have booked car hire for many years.   The company i went with was called inter rent because the rental cost was so reasonable.  The hire was from 3rd August to 5th August and they are based on the airport.

My flight was delayed and I had to pay out of hours cost because i arrived at midnight on the 3rd august, and although it was annoying easyjet have agreed to pay the cost back, (not seen yet).   I was also charged for a full tank of fuel and was told that if I brought it back with a full tank I would be reimbursed.

I returned it full and have been reimbursed £23.90.

I have complained to "do you spain" and they have only picked up on my comment about out of hours cost which actually was not an issue, I just mentioned it to them.

The outcome is that I paid £25.91 for the car, £114.44 costs to inter rent, with a credit back of £23.90 making my total charges on my barclaycard £116.45.

This cost is for just one and a half days because the vehicle was collected at midnight on 3rd august and taken back on 5th august at 1:30.  Can't get any joy with regards getting my money back and have paid my barclaycard,  but thought I would make people aware, it is bad enough having to pay these hire companies for exorbitant fuel charges, but to then not get back what is due, is really bad practice.

Just be very careful if you are dealing with inter rent.

On the other hand I have just hired a car through "do you spain" with auto click  and they are brilliant.

I have to agree with Shirley...having used Autoclick (booked via DoYouSpain) 3 times in the last year  they are brilliant. They don't actually charge anything to your credit card, although they do 'block a certain amount' but if you return the car undamaged and with a full tank of petrol nothing ever appears on your credit card, which is great because even if the money is charged and then refunded you have a fairly large credit balance on your account.

Do not expect any help from Do you Spain, they are just a bad broker with no influence over the car rental companies, create a website promise people car rental for virtually nothing and wait for their victims to contact them. If it's too good to be true, it is...deal direct with rental companies and know what your getting.....surely if a deposit is taken on your credit card you will incur conversion charges??

I've used Centauro for years, and they are fantastic - their desk is just opposite Doyou spain.

The queues are also considerably smaller and the average wait at the desk prior to going over to the car park is about 5 minutes.
