Evening all. Just wondering if anyone has recently got residencia and were you asked for proof of income and if so, how much?? We will be applying soon but we will only have my husband's pension as income plus savings. There is so much conflicting information around this.

Many thanks.

For 50€ try one way services in Quesada and get them to do it for you saves all the hassle and worry http://www.one-way-services.com/nie.php

All recent reports n this forum have said €900 per month per person paid into a Spanish bank for three months, or a bank balance of €7000 per person, also in a Spanish bank for three months.

Really?

It's a subject I follow quite closely but can't recall reading any posts which state those numbers, particularly the €900/mth per person, which incidentally I'd venture would be a stretch for many - myself included if taken as €900 each as opposed to €1800 per couple - leading presumably to a refusal, did I miss something ?

In the recent past I've actually asked for feedback from people who've been through the residencia procedure in Alicante but replies have been conspicuous by their absence.

Many thanks Jim. I've managed to find a few posts on this that seem to indicate 7000 euros each in the bank would be enough.

Hmmm.

That was the thread where I asked for feedback but I find the statement "agreeing that € 900 per month per applicant were sufficient' both ambiguous and non conclusive.

As I said earlier I think many might struggle to qualify under that so I await real world feedback from individuals.

There may of course be no one answer and despite centralisation it could still be a moving taget based on a combination of income and savings and even available borrowing on credit cards.

The perfect feedback IMO would be from someone with minimal cash resources and just one or two basic UK pensions coming in, that would probably be as close to a base line as it could get.

There is no doubt in my mind that recent posts, plus some of the numerous PMs I receive, make it clear that Alicante want €900 pm or €7K balance.

What would be helpful would be feedback from those who haven't used the online appointments system and had to go to Alicante, but have instead gone direct to police stations like Playa Flamenca, Elche etc.

Our Residencia was 18 months ago (hardly recent). We went to Orihuela police station.

We were asked to produce bank documentation showing an income to our Spanish bank of of 800 Euros/month per person.

Nobody was interested in our UK bank balance, our actual income (to our UK bank) or any savings we had.
