Hi Lorraine,

Spain has tentatively suggested they will reopen their borders from 1 July, but if we have an increase in the infection rate, that could well change.  Even then, Spain's Tourism Minister, Maria Reyes Maroto, has said they will only open borders to visitors from countries where Covid-19 is under control - currently, that means Germany and the Nordic countries.  She said the UK's infection rate "still had to improve" before Britons will be allowed to visit.

Kind regards,

Kim

I agree with your comment about Movingon. What’s the point of adding comments if they are neither helpful nor supportive. After reading a Movingon comment, I don’t even have to look to see who it was written by! Apparently, there’s ‘block’ button .. think I might be looking for it! Perhaps he’ll change his name to Victor Meldrew!

Re Movingon,  I’ve always found his comments straightforward and factual, usually quite sensible.

The borders ARE open. Fact.

There are just some restrictions on whom is allowed to pass at this moment, but by 01/07/2020, these restrictions are scheduled and fully expected to be lifted for most EU countries Residents.

Stephanie 86 If you want straightforward & factual please read Jim's & Ray D's posts, all without bias. The problem with movingon's ( & I have viewed these posts over the last 3 years since they joined us on this forum ) posts is that they have a distinct lean of mild hostility towards 2nd home owners. No we dont want tourists coming over for a 14 night party in Benidorm just yet. But I totally understand 2nd homeowners wanting to get here asap ( and to abide by the all the rules in place here ) to check on their investments. Before movingon replies to my post, yes I am a resident ( 9 months Spain 3 months S.Africa ) & my glass is half full.
