The rules regarding entry to Spain via Alicante Airport.

Do you have to have a PCR test to enter Spain, the press are stating you do not because of the UK vaccine success.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

For entry to Spain you need either a PCR, TMA or LAMP test, although I understand that the latter two aren't widely available in the UK.

However, it's not relevant for most UK citizens at the moment, as an update from the UK government this morning states that you shouldn't travel to countries on the Amber and Red lists - and Spain is on the Amber list:

"To prevent new COVID variants from entering the UK, you should not travel to amber or red list countries."

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

Also, you can't travel to Spain before 31 May, unless you are a Spanish citizen or resident.  There are a few exceptions, such as caring for a sick relative.

Kind regards,

Kim

I travelled back to Spain on Sunday (2 days ago). And yes, at that time, the PCR test was required.
