Areas to visit for possible property purchase, 30 mile radius of the airport

Hello , my partner and i are flying over to Alicante on 28th June to look at possible areas/villages/towns where we might like to purchase a property. We do not want to have to use a car, so somewhere that has basic facilities at least. We like the look of the areas near the lakes or mountain back drop, seems a lot greener and more of the Spanish / British community mix. Any tips on places to visit would be much appreciated as we have not been to this part before, but have looked a lot online .
