Apologies if this is already a topic (but I’m a newbie)

This is only for worn / used clothes

I have just shipped my clothes to Spain from the UK without incurring any duty. It took 5 days from uk pickup to Spanish delivery. £25 for 20kg. Box Size 70x45x35 cm (similar to large suitcase)

I used “parcel monkey”. I used the cheapest pickup from home option which was “parcel force”  (aka Royal Mail in uk but it was delivered by SEUR in Spain)

Declared each item individually I.e “worn men’s jeans blue 1 pair”

used tariff code 63 09 00 00 00

Total value £2.50 (use £0.01 per item and change a couple to make total £2.50)

note : must be less than 20kg as this is cut off for duty

You must declare each item individually, unless identical,  do not enter - “worn men’s shirt x10”

mention “worn” in every description as key to tariff code

Play with dimensions to keep at £25.

Hope this helps

Hi Drew

An interesting post, thank you

Just had a quick look at “parcel monkey”, which appears to be a comparison site. Can you add to your post by saying which company you “picked”? I’m guessing not all the companies would work to the same timescales 🤪🥂

Done :)

and corrected spelling mistake.

Ps. The weight is added automatically by the app, but make sure it’s 20kg or less.

Pps. I was very surprised it was delivered so quickly and without an argument about paying duty on my own dirty clothes.

Very helpful information.  I have booked a Ryanair Flight to take out a 20kg suitcase (one way only to leave clothes in Spain) and it's costing £40.  Probably too late to remove the cases from the booking, but it might be useful in the future for winter clothes - that's if you need them!

Carrying with you is preferable due to unknown delivery times and possibility of jobs-worth import inspections. I already had 2x23kg plus 2x10kg carry on plus laptop bags - but the wife needed her shoes !!!!!
