Hi, I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance for your help. Weve seen properties for se in the Juan xxiii area and was wondering what the area is like? We would like to be in a Spanish (not tourist area) but with easy access to beach and town centre amenities. We love Alicante but budget wont allow us to be in the centre so looking a bit further out. Any suggestions of other areas for us to look at 10 mins from beach/airport gratefully received.  Many yhanks

Hi, We have a place in La Florida area. The west side of the city. 15 mins walk from  the train station, 20 mins walk from the bus station. 35 min walk to the beach. 2 Buses into town, 1 to the beach and the other to Le Rambla' area. Plenty of local bars and restaurants. Quiet and over the past 3 years, no problems. Look for Conda Casas Rojas on Google earth.

Hello, I do not recommend you Juan XXIII area. It is one of the most problematic zones in Alicante.

If you are looking for quiet and safe areas, with good prices, good connections to the city centre, and all amenities (bar, restaurants, supermarkets...) I would choose El Pla, Campoamor-Altozano, Carolinas or Los Angeles.

I hope my answer can help you.

Please do not even think about it!  it is ONE of worst places in Alicante, that is why it is so cheap!
