Help! Where can I find details about my late father's yacht, insurance, marina, mooring and docking fees?

Hi All, My late English father was a non-Spanish resident and had a yacht (or shared a yacht) in Alicante, Spain. I believe it was in the Alicante region and on his death it was sold. Does anybody know who I can contact to find out how much the yacht cost and all the docking/mooring fees, marina fees and insurance costs were? I do not know the name of the yacht. It is related to financial inheritance issues.

I'm afraid that what you're asking could be very difficult or even impossible.

In Spain, there is no public database that lets anyone search for the notary who handled a deceased person's estate.

If your father had made a Spanish will, and that named you as an inheritor, then you would have been contacted in order to accept the inheritance in front of the notary handling the estate.

If your father hadn't made a Spanish will, then inheritance would have been subject to the Spanish law of forced succession, which would have included yourself as an inheritor.

I suggest that you first try to obtain a Certificado de Actos de Última Voluntad, which would tell you if there was a Spanish will, and which notary had it. You could then ask that notary to which notary handling the estate that will was released to.
