Yes my fears exactly. 

A friend was given keys to a holiday home by her Aunt who owns property down the coast.   

On arrival everything  seemed okay at the house until late that night the key holder walked in... he was “living” there having rented out his own property!!

No major harm done as such but a breech of trust.  

So yes, finding a trustworthy key holder is vital.

Hi I’m looking for someone to carry out a key holding and inspection service on Alenda Golf -near Monforte/Aspe/Alicante. Our current key holder has now retired. Would also involve cleaning property say once or twice and making arrangements with tradesman as and when necessary.
