Andrew, just do as they tell you and accept what they tell you.

There is no point complaining, especially if you are not fluent in spanish.

Things are different in different countries. Having lived in the UK with a husband who is not British I could tell you all sorts of stories.

Relax and enjoy living here.

Cheers, J

i. I am fluent in Spanish.

ii. I understand that things are different in Spain. Although I have been here since March 2021, in the past I was living here for over 12 years. However, it is one thing for differences to be due to clear rules or laws and another thing for differences to be due to someone somewhere making a cockup, which seems to be what has happened.

Hey, hope I'm not misunderstanding  you, apols if so, but we've been in Alicante city for a year now and have had to renew our Padron every 3 months. The latest time was last week as we wanted to get our first SIP cards and to do so, we were told we had to update the Padron first. I think th...

...at the ongoing SIP card has to have an up to date Padron for it to continue to work, as the Padron triggers the Govnt. funding for services. Its a pain to keep renewingit I know, but last time we were in updating it we got the person to sign us up to CL@VE https://clave.gob.es/clave_Home/en/clave.html which we believe will let us renew it online going forwards🤞

Hi Simon,

I have been digging into this some more and found this web page:

------------------------------

My guess is that I was chosen for a random periodic inspection when I should not have been (because I am on the RCE it should be five years) and for some reason they determined that I am no longer living here.

BTW I also have a CLAVE access - this allows you to request that an updated padron certificate be sent to your home. However, there is no legal requirement anywhere that says you should have to renew it every 3 months just to keep your SIP card active - sounds like a mistake is being made with you also.

Adrian

Hey, we were talking about very different things... But good to get the heads up on what happened with you. It was my first SIP card I was applying for which I definitely needed an up to date Padron for. I was just making a suggestion that if yours was out of date it may have played a part, but I stand corrected and glad you got to the bottom of your issue. Cheers.
