Hi,

We are trying to work out if a person holding an EU long term residents visa, (I have one issued in The Netherlands), goes through the same process to live in Spain as an EU citizen, or whether it is a different process. Anyone know this, and if it is different can anyone point to or describe the process for moving to Spain for the holder of one of these EU long term resident visas?

Cheers Phil

If you are a UK passport holder my understanding is that because of Brexit you will have start by applying for a visa at the Spanish Consulate in the UK just like any other UK citizen. I don’t honestly think that having long term residency in the EU holds any privileges when applying for a Spanish visa but good luck.

Thanks, but I am not a British passport holder.

Check the info out in the link above, As we don't know what passport you have we can't say what rules would apply to you
