Hi, I have just signed a lease in Valencia starting December 1  I am dutch and have a dutch pension. I have my nie.and am getting my padron on dec 2. If I then apply for for residencia immediately, does anyone know whether I will have to wait 3 months before they give it or whether they will give it immediately. We have heard you have to have 3 months evidence of money going into your bank account . Does anyone know the above for certain?

I am British and when I applied for residency in 2020, I received my residency within 6 weeks. As for having monies for 3 months in a Spanish bank account, yes I was on the understanding this is correct at that time, as I had not? Long story? I supplied also 3 months worth of my UK bank statements that were signed, stamped and dated, but not translated and these were accepted because they showed my private pension income. I have no other help in this matter and you also being Dutch, so good luck my friend.

Hi alphega,

When we applied for residency at Torrevieja in 2016,  we also had only 3 months' statements from our Spanish bank.  However, as our income (my husband's military pension and my property rental income) was coming from the UK, I also took 3 months' statements from our UK bank to provide an audit trail for the origin of the money.  This was accepted without difficulty.  My perception is that the Spanish authorities are much more relaxed about the requirements for applications from citizens of other EU member states, than when dealing with Third Country Nationals.

Kind regards,

Kim
