Accosted and Phone Stolen In Alicante
On a recent trip to Alicante, I was accosted by two young men outside my Hotel.. I am 68 years old.. I was quite shaken. It was 1.15 am, I was out and had just 2 drinks so I was sober. The hotel is just off the Passeo, so it was quite a public place, The shouted out "Taxi Taxi" and then proceeded to jostle me, (not in a violent way, but like "horseplay" ) but I was still quite scared. I made my way into the hotel lobby as soon as I could, and then discovered immediately that my Mobile Phone was gone./. I filed a police report next day. There is CCTV footage of the incident, from my Hotel, (which I have viewed) and I expect from the Hotel next to it and perhaps other premises in the location.. The battery was almost dead in my phone when it was stolen, so I expect it turned off quite soon afterwards .,. I set about to track phone as soon as I could gather myself, but it was not showing as connected to any network., However, about 1 and half hours after it was stolen, I was able to ping and map the location of the phone using "find my phone" feature on manufactures web site (This was about 3 am) I am guessing this is were the phone was charged and turned on... Anyway the point of this is, can I depend on the Police to follow up on this to apprehend the culprits. With the CCTV and map locating the last position of phone, I would think there is a lot to go on... What would a reasonable time for police to look into this kind of a case?? One or two weeks or more?? If anyone has any idea, I would be grateful for some feed back. It is unlikely I will get phone back but I would like the cuprids apprehended before they do this to some other victim.
