We completed on a property in early march and were hoping to come out late march early April from UK but our flight has been cancelled

We are so disappointed that we cant come now as we have had the place decorated throughout, new light fittings and fixtures and were ready to start furnishing it when we got there

Weve had to cancel all deliveries and broadband installation and have rre-booked flights for September all being well, fingers crossed ....

Today, Hairdressers have been pulled from the "list" I think someone in the government (dyslexic) who enjoyed sledging in the snow must have got confused with a tobagganist.

& for the believers, I leave to the Reverend.

We are also in a tricky situation. Sold our UK home and came out to Spain 2 weeks ago to buy a property as cash buyers. Found a nice bungalow in Lo Marabu and paid our deposit before flying back to the holiday cottage we have rented for the next 2 months. Transferred all the remaining money to ou...

...r Spanish bank, and 2 days later Spain is in lock down, so, unable to come over to complete. Now the UK are talking about restricting movement of over 70 year olds for 4 months which affects my wife, so not sure if we'd even get out of the country. We were intending to drive down with our dog. What a mess!!  Beginning to wish we'd never started.

I doubt you are the only ones in this position! I wish you luck, hope you stay healthy and things get back to normal for all! It seems China is back to normal and making another fortune selling masks etc to the rest of the world!

Sorry for your disappointment.  It’s still a lot of fun to look forward too. Furnishing you’re new Spanish house will be great fun. We are waiting to get over to our little piece of heaven as well. Don’t despair we will get there. September is a good bet. We are personally hoping for August! The beaches and blue seas are calling!! Luckily we have it in our early future. Keep looking forward we will get there x

Thank you for setting this up, horendous situation.  I was coming over from UK on 21st as I have sold my house and needed to clear it out, not furniture just personal stuff and had several viewing lined up.  The sale will go ahead on 3rd April so Im guessing it still wont be appropriate...

... to travel.  I have emailed the lawyer to explain so hopefully they will come up with something after they speak to the buyers lawyers. I hope you all stay safe

Carol

Hi Carol , Im sure you will be OK ,I am in the same position myself .I was almost at the point of going to the notary when this happened ( I live in Spain) and now I could be anywhere in the world as I am 30 minutes from where I am buying but cant go out without risking a hefty fine and removal companys are shut and notaries for all but exceptional cases .So its sit at home and wait. Good luck with your purchase.

I tend to agree. (in hind-site). After myself, friends here in Spain, & visitors from abroad, have stated (more or less) this has been the "longest cold" I´ve ever had. (similar symptoms)  It´s only my "feeling" this virus has only been recognized as such, much later. I may be wrong.

I agree I believe my family and I have also had a similar experience just after lockdown started in march. Really bad head cold, chesty symptoms with terrible headache. Lasted about 2 weeks. Would be interested in trying the antibody test when available.

Similar with me in March,  but been told the antibody test to see if you’ve had it is only accurate within 6 months. Don’t shoot the messenger if you think this is incorrect.
