Our members have sent us their experiences of Covid tests they have used for travelling to/from Spain and I have put together a full list by area below. I will be updating this list over time.

Please note: these experiences and details can always change at any time. It's important you always check your Government's official rules before travelling to and from Spain.

Article continues below

Alicante Airport

  • "Travelling from Spain to UK we used Trust1 based in departures of Alicante airport. €29.  Very quick and efficient if you book a time slot. Results in under 2 hours. Used Randox in uk for day 2 pcr test. £43 with easyjet discount code. Results very quick. Only negative is depending on where you stay or live it can be a long way to their drop boxes."

Almoradi

  • "Hi Alex ,we are in catral and used the Analisis Clinic in Almoradi  by Druni  shop, you phone the doctor to make appointment for antigen test €40 and gives you results and paperwork must take passport with you,for testing in UK we have used Randox for PCR 2 and 8 day testing kits also if you quote FlyRyanair you get 10%off ."

Altea

  • "We have just returned to the UK after a wonderful 12 day stay in Altea. The current Scottish requirement is that we had to be tested within 3 days of our return flight. Our tests were carried out at Clínica La Mar in Altea, this clinic can be found on the main principal road, almost opposite Altea’s main tram station (just along from the Policía station). The tests are by appointment only, therefore please email:

    [email protected]  to book.

Antigen tests are 40€ per person. The results were available within 10 minutes, she emailed a copy of the certificate to our mobiles and also printed off paper certificates for us to take too.

    Great service & super efficient."

Cabo Roig

  • "We travelled from Villamartin to Wales on 4th August. Antigen test from the clinic above the pharmacy at Cabo Roig (€30) paper certificate within 10 mins. booking a few days before is essential.  We then paid £88 to NHS Wales for the day 2 test, booked 2 days before travel (only provider in Wales) details on UGov site, it arrived just after us and we posted it back and received an email a day later.  We had our EU vaccination certificate (both on phone and paper copy) which we showed at the Ryanair checking desk.  All very smooth but would allow an extra hour at the airport for all the security measures."

Calpe

  • "To return in March we used HCB in Calpe for antigen tests at EUR80 for two, with results in 15mins. The tests had to be pre-booked.., also the staff were unaware that an antigen test was OK for entry to UK. "

Campello

  • "We returned from EL CAMPELLO last week (August 4th) and had our Antigen tests done at  Policlínca Omega, Avenida de la Estación, 03560, Campello. Telephone +34 966 283 899 there is a lady called Rusty who speaks English, email [email protected]. It's just round the corner from the tram station.  We pre-booked and the cost was 35 Euros.  Not available at weekends.  Take your passports with you.  Test results back within the hour.  We booked the Day 2 return to UK test with Randox.com Cost £43 (put FLYRYANAIR in the voucher option to get the test £5 cheaper, even if you are not flying with RA).  You need to pre-book the Day 2 so you can put the reference number in the passenger locator form for for your return to the UK."

Campoamor

  • "Just returned from Cabo Roig to Scotland.  We booked our antigen tests through the Farmacia at Campoamor (next to Consum).  Definitely recommend booking in advance as it's very busy and also note that the only do them Monday thro to Friday.  The cost was 50 euros.  We were in and out in 10 minutes and very straightforward. The tests were received in about an hour to our mobile in a PDF and this is needed at the airport to be either shown or uploaded to your boarding pass info. There does seems to be quite a range of places offering them and at different prices, so well done for trying to pull it together!"

Campoverde

  • "I did the test at Pastoras in Pinar de Campoverde.  Booked it a week before, took it the morning before flight. 35 euro each. For the 2 day test we booked randox, as it had a voucher for easyjet. It arrived at our home two days before we did, even though we told them the date of travel. Cost £43 each. We assumed you would just pop the test in the post, but we had to drive 20 miles to place our tests in a collection box."

Elche

  • “I came to UK from spain on the 2nd August and all that was needed was an antigen test which I got from imed in Elche costing 40.00

Needed health locator form and certificate of vaccine.

But things are changing all the time”

Elda

  • “We were travelling from UK to Spain and had to take a PCR test 24hrs before boarding ferry to Santander. We used DAM healthcare £95 each as they were the only provider that would email back your results within 24hrs. Beware of the app they ask you to download.  It requests personal details like passport number and DOB ect which you think it's ok to give as you want the SQR code to be able to scan your status, but no one in our party ever received theirs, and you have just given a stranger a lot of sensitive information about yourself.  This bit is worrying. Make sure if you take have a hard copy with you.

Upon return to UK we used Mirrials Laboratory in Elda €35. They are very quick and Laboratory very clean. For our day 2 tests in the UK we used Eurofins as they were the cheapest £99 at the time, but I do know prices fluctuate on these tests. These tests have to be booked before you can return home as information about this test is on you passenger locator form. Personally I think our own antigen tests suffice and think it's a big money spinner for those companies. Spain's prices are reasonable but UK's are expensive  but I guess you gave to pay if you want to go.”

Gandia

  • "On the 8th, I had the required fit-to-fly Antigen test which cost €40 at IMED in Gandia. Booking was easily done online, with lots of appointments available & the results had been emailed to me before I reached home (it's a 30 minute drive): https://www.imedhospitales.com/pruebas/

As I'd only booked my flight on 30th July, it was too late to have the 2-day PCR test posted to my son's (as a minimum of 4 working days are required) so I booked at the 'walk-in' centre on East Midlands Airport. With the discount offered by my airline, the £82 test was reduced to £66 & the results were emailed the following day. Note: the test centre is a long walk from Arrivals so it's best to hop on a park 'n' ride bus heading to long stay car park 1.

At Alicante Airport Ryanair staff quickly checked that I had the required documentation on my phone (negative Antigen test, EU double vaccination certificate & UK Passenger Locator Form) at the gate. It's possible to upload these docs to be connected to your boarding pass."

Gran Alacant

  • "I had an antigen test on Monday 19th July at the Salvum clinic in Gran Alacant I pre-booked it by calling in there with my passport, where they foto copied it to enable to load the information onto their computer to enable the appointment to be quicker on the test day. My appointment was at 10am…the queue was quite long but they kept a lot of people outside the building to keep to indoor regulations. My wait was approx 10 minutes till I got the test then approx 30 mins for the results… I then paid €40 & was given a printed certificate & asked to check it. It was all done in a professional but caring manner! My flight back to England was at 17.30 & everything was absolutely fine. I will be using Salvum again when I visit again in September"
  • If you are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test when returning to your home country there are 3 places in Gran Alacant that offer this service. Please note you must phone to book an appointment in good time for your flight home.

Salvum Clinic (next to Santara Life Resort)

Calle Mont de Santa Pola 15, Gran Alacant

La Zenia

  • "I took an antigen test at the Farmacia M Pilar BanonAnao, Avda LaPlaya, LaZenia. Its the one on the roundabout on N332 opposite the Ole Communications.  I booked the day before and went in at 9am.  We were out in 10 minutes and the result came by email later that day.  The cost was E55.  That was in mid September.  I am out next week so will be looking for a cheaper option!!"

La Siesta

  • "We travelled to our holiday home in Torrevieja for a week 13th - 20th July had to have proof of both vaccines which were sent from NHS, plus passenger allocator form  both ways, a covid test the day before returning to Scotland at La Siesta clinic 50euros each and a CPR test on second day of return home £87.00. Hope this helps someone. "

Los Altos

  • "We used Vitalicum.es in the Los Altos area, excellent service for €40"

Moraira

  • "I had an antigen test costing 40  euros at the imed clinic in Moraira.  I booked on line or you can ring them.  Very efficient service and was in and out in half hour.  My test was on 1st August. They email results with in an hour, which you can print off to show at the airport. The antigen test was accepted with no issues."

Pinar de Campoverde

  • “I have travelled from Spain to the UK a few times, first when there was 10 days' quarantine, then when it's just Day 2 tests if you are fully vaccinated.  I get an antigen test from Dr Pastora in the village of Pinar de Campoverde. Book an appointment, test done by the doctor, cost €35, results in half an hour with certificate. This has been accepted with no problems by Ryanair for check-in and Border Force arriving in the UK. The issue is getting the tests in the UK, which are expensive and many companies are unreliable or dud set-ups. I have found Vivo clinic reliable in terms of getting kits and results in good time, although not cheap. There does not seem to be any monitoring of people coming into the country now, though. Border Force didn't check any of my paperwork in July; presumably they are relying on the airlines. Ryanair, for example, requires you to upload your proof of vaccine/test/passenger locator form when checking in.”

Santa Pola

  • "In Santa Pola we booked our antigen test at the policlincia (near castle) a week before they were due  they cost €29 euros each we got results by email within 8 hours by email and uploaded this certificate to ryanair."

Teulada

  • "We returned to UK on 7th August. We had brought LFT tests with is (cost 32 pounds each), from Qured in the UK, to be completed before boarding. This didn't work as Qured said they were unable to contact us. Instead of using those tests we went to IMED in Teulada and had the test done in 5 minutes (no reservation needed) with the result provided by email very shortly afterwards. Cost 40 Euro each. Very quick, only a small queue. Would recommend IMED."

Torrevieja

  • "Hospital Quiron, Torrevieja. Cost €45. Made appointment at the hospital as nothing left online. Results. Paper form 30 minutes after the test "
  • "Leaving villa Martin 8/8 - I had pre book an antigen test at Quiron salud  Torrevieja 40euros turn up had a little wait but then straight through. Test results in 30mjns printed out.  Also had to complete passenger locator form online 48hrs before departure recording the day two test we had to pre book for when we returned home to the uk."

  • "I use imed at Torrevieja when travelling back to UK. 40 euros. Book and pay online. Very easy at the test centre just walk in at the appointed time bottom of the corridor last door on the left. They also have a walk in clinic if you can't book an appointment. All the time slots were gone for when I wanted. I just turned up at 1.30pm there was a long queue but they did test us. Don't forget your passport for I'd. results back  in 15mins by txt and email. Lamp antigen test I took."

  • "I booked my antigen test online at the IMED clinic in Torreveija for a test on 27th July ready for returning to the UK on the 29th July. It cost €40. When I arrived it was really busy with lots of walk in customers. We were directed inside to a queue for customers who had pre booked and the test was done quickly but the results took well over an hour so I can only think it will get worse as more and more people are arriving in Spain at the moment. I am going again in September and have decided to take a test with me as you are allowed to do your own in Spain as long as you get the right fit to fly test. There is a list on the UK government website of accepted suppliers. I chose tot buy my test from LivingCare which cost £25. You do have to be organised and obviously get it before you go! My friend used them last week and she said it worked well and there were no hitches at the airport and they accepted the certificate that LivingCare had provided. Happy days if you can avoid any queues anywhere I say! Here is a link to the website

I have taken three lots of visitors to IMED near Elche, and have found them extremely efficient. Simple process. You just book on line (plenty of available slots) on the day. In and out in no time and results and certificate sent direct to your mobile in around 15 mins.

An excellent article and thank you to the person who posted about their experience at Altea. We are due to sail back to England on 14th September and we have been looking for a local test centre. It fits our requirements perfectly.

Thank you.

Barry Young.

Hi

I am coming to Costa Blanca in mid-September and I want to find a covid test centre in Villena for my test before returning to the UK. Can anyone help please?

Hi

If travelling to Scotland be very careful as unless you go the government web site & get your day 2 test done via an organisation called CTM then the code you need to enter on the passenger return locator form won’t be accepted, resulting in airline won’t allow you to fly

The cost when we flew in July was £88 each think it has now dropped to £68 each with review still ongoing

We had friends who purchased the kit prior to coming out from Scotland and just added there code / number, they used Randox whilst filling out the Scotland PLF. This was last week.

Our members have sent us their experiences of Covid tests they have used for travelling to/from Spain and I have put together a full list by area below. I will be updating this list over time.

Please note: these experiences and details can always change at any time. It's important you always check your Government's official rules before travelling to and from Spain. ...

...

Advice for those those travelling from UK to Spain on this link: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirementsAdvice for those travelling to England here on this link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-england

Alicante Airport

"Travelling from Spain to UK we used Trust1 based in departures of Alicante airport. €29.  Very quick and efficient if you book a time slot. Results in under 2 hours. Used Randox in uk for day 2 pcr test. £43 with easyjet discount code. Results very quick. Only negative is depending on where you stay or live it can be a long way to their drop boxes."

Almoradi

"Hi Alex ,we are in catral and used the Analisis Clinic in Almoradi  by Druni  shop, you phone the doctor to make appointment for antigen test €40 and gives you results and paperwork must take passport with you,for testing in UK we have used Randox for PCR 2 and 8 day testing kits also if you quote FlyRyanair you get 10%off ."

Altea

"We have just returned to the UK after a wonderful 12 day stay in Altea.

Cabo Roig

"We travelled from Villamartin to Wales on 4th August.

Calpe

"To return in March we used HCB in Calpe for antigen tests at EUR80 for two, with results in 15mins. The tests had to be pre-booked.., also the staff were unaware that an antigen test was OK for entry to UK. "

Campello

"We returned from EL CAMPELLO last week (August 4th) and had our Antigen tests done at  Policlínca Omega, Avenida de la Estación, 03560, Campello.

Campoamor

"Just returned from Cabo Roig to Scotland.

Campoverde

"I did the test at Pastoras in Pinar de Campoverde.

Elche

“I came to UK from spain on the 2nd August and all that was needed was an antigen test which I got from imed in Elche costing 40.00

Needed health locator form and certificate of vaccine.

But things are changing all the time”

Elda

“We were travelling from UK to Spain and had to take a PCR test 24hrs before boarding ferry to Santander.

Gandia

"On the 8th, I had the required fit-to-fly Antigen test which cost €40 at IMED in Gandia.

"I had an antigen test on Monday 19th July at the Salvum clinic in Gran Alacant I pre-booked it by calling in there with my passport, where they foto copied it to enable to load the information onto their computer to enable the appointment to be quicker on the test day.

If you are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test when returning to your home country there are 3 places in Gran Alacant that offer this service. Please note you must phone to book an appointment in good time for your flight home.

La Zenia

"I took an antigen test at the Farmacia M Pilar BanonAnao, Avda LaPlaya, LaZenia. Its the one on the roundabout on N332 opposite the Ole Communications.  I booked the day before and went in at 9am.  We were out in 10 minutes and the result came by email later that day.  The cost was E55.  That was in mid September.  I am out next week so will be looking for a cheaper option!!"

La Siesta

"We travelled to our holiday home in Torrevieja for a week 13th - 20th July had to have proof of both vaccines which were sent from NHS, plus passenger allocator form  both ways, a covid test the day before returning to Scotland at La Siesta clinic 50euros each and a CPR test on second day of return home £87.00. Hope this helps someone. "

Los Altos

"We used Vitalicum.es in the Los Altos area, excellent service for €40"

Moraira

"I had an antigen test costing 40  euros at the imed clinic in Moraira.  I booked on line or you can ring them.  Very efficient service and was in and out in half hour.  My test was on 1st August. They email results with in an hour, which you can print off to show at the airport. The antigen test was accepted with no issues."

Pinar de Campoverde

“I have travelled from Spain to the UK a few times, first when there was 10 days' quarantine, then when it's just Day 2 tests if you are fully vaccinated.

Santa Pola

"In Santa Pola we booked our antigen test at the policlincia (near castle) a week before they were due  they cost €29 euros each we got results by email within 8 hours by email and uploaded this certificate to ryanair."

Teulada

"We returned to UK on 7th August.

Torrevieja

"Hospital Quiron, Torrevieja. Cost €45. Made appointment at the hospital as nothing left online. Results. Paper form 30 minutes after the test "

"Leaving villa Martin 8/8 - I had pre book an antigen test at Quiron salud  Torrevieja 40euros turn up had a little wait but then straight through. Test results in 30mjns printed out.  Also had to complete passenger locator form online 48hrs before departure recording the day two test we had to pre book for when we returned home to the uk."

"I use imed at Torrevieja when travelling back to UK.

"I booked my antigen test online at the IMED clinic in Torreveija for a test on 27th July ready for returning to the UK on the 29th July.

Can I just say I ordered a test from Randox and I live in Wales it was at home when I arrived.

it was £54
