Hi Jim,

A worrying time for everyone.   I’d imagine Sunday not best day to shop for supplies.

But Mercadona in Alicante assured people that Spain has tremendous stocks of goods.  So hopefully all shops will be restocked.

Stay well everyone

Maria

Hi Maria.

Sorry, I didn't convey the message I meant to.

M & I need to decide when may be the quietest time, so we're not mixing with too many people.

Last time I looked at Mercadona online, they didn't deliver to our post code. I decided to check that again, and they're saying that due to high demand they've temporarily suspended all home deliveries.

I've just looked at Consum and they don't deliver to our post code.

Quite correct - it's:

Declaración del estado de alarma

be it Alarm or emergency... the message is similar.... no movement, no outlets open unless essential...no sports....no gathering. Here in the UK  we may have not moved 'that'far at the moment, but the chaos of fear is very high with all sport fixtures. concerts, mass gathering events all cancelled. People have been told to self  incubate for 7-14 days even if they get  a runny nose - The result, ?  All the 'i am fit at the moment  people' are now stock piling food in the " just in case" fear. . Result ? they, not the virus, are causing massive shortages of food supplies and blaming it all on the virus !! - why do people panic and be so irresponsible to others ? If this hasn't happened yet in Spain I guess it will. My problem ? I was due to come out in 8 days time to our villa  but now my flight is cancelled so I am stuck in the UK... with all this b***** rain ! Anyway I wish all the Costa Blanca readers a healthy evasion of this bug , and we will get through it and back be to normal soon.

That’s not easy !   I’m in Ireland at present so no help. 😃

Perhaps some of the the many people you have helped on this forum would now get a chance to help you out.
Start writing a shopping list.
People may be happy to have something to do.

Best wishes

Maria

Yes Molly I believe so. Spain hasn't shut its borders, it's simply that Jet2 have stopped flying and I think Ryanair have cancelled quite a lot of flights.

As I type this the UK Foreign Office has advised against all but essential travel to Spain. If you can get a flight I dont think you'll be turned back at Immigration.

Jim & others at risk -

In the Orihuela costa area there are lots of people offering to deliver basic necessities to anyone in need free of charge.  Would you like me to see if anyone is able to do that in your area?

Hi, I'm assuming that travel to the airport would be within the scope of the exceptions. We're confirmed on an Easyjet rescue flight which is actually the same flight that we were booked on. I just had the privilege of setting the alarm at 1AM to rebook from our cancelled scheduled flight to the same flight rebranded as a rescue flight.... and my wife and i are now sitting apart. I recognise that this is consequential with what families who have lost loved ones have gone through, but i thought it worth a share.
