Hi Maria

Whist I agree with the sale and wanted ads being frustratingly out of date, some of the old posts contain information that can be extremely helpful regardless of how old the post is. Surely you just learn to look at the date of posting earlier as I do.

Hello

I agree with Pauline on both points ,old messages are often still useful & informative for new members on the forum . Just look at the date above the post before you read/reply to it, if it's too old to be current/relevant,( some info. changes regularly)  just don't reply.

Cheers

I agree old posts are useful. As  a new member and someone currently in the process of moving to the area I have found posts old and new very helpful.

Yes, I too agree with Pauline about the buy and sell ads. It takes ages to wade through old ads. Maybe once the item has been notified as being sold, the post should be removed? Perhaps it doesn’t happen often that the sellers actually say that the item has been sold?

I think you are right Janice with sellers not reporting as sold or even deleting their ad, so maybe Alex could build in a reminder say after 1 month to prompt seller to delete or update the item is still for sale.

Thanks for your feedback - I've now added a yellow message at the top of any topics 1+ years old so it is more clear

Yes, I think I will add this feature to alert any people posting buy and sell to remove them if sold

 Hello

Thats great Alex, really helpful to lots of new members  who search topics,  people get annoyed (sometimes amused) when you tell them they've replied to something over 2 years old

Cheers
