hi

i like looking thru the property section of this website as i have been looking to buy a larger house here, but i find it really frustrating that the vast majority of properties listed for sale on this site, do not contain any specific location details. i find i skip past these as i want to look on a map where these properties are exactly - not just told 'close to the villamartin plaza'. why would anybody list a place for sale and not highlight exactly where it is situated?

can anyone explain why this vital detail would be omitted?

many thanks.

Hi there

I think I might know what's happened - you may have seen some very old posts that were made before we created our www.propertyandvillasinspain.com website. We created this website to solve the problem you describe, where details of the property were often missed out.

We have removed those old posts now if that helps, and please check out our property website:

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

i get that pete, but even on Rightmove you get the street location. not expecting the exact house number etc, but you certainly want to know what street / road a property is in in advance surely?

Very simple realest ates would like to sell a property, but there are customers going behind their back directly to sellers.

This is a reason. And another could be security reasons I wouldn't like to have all pictures of my house included the exact adress on internet

hi jme0065

i fully agree with you but if you are advertising your house for sale i expect to know a rough idea of the location. you don't have to publish the full address but a pin on a map in the general vicinity would be welcome. that's all thats needed.

Although it takes a bit of work I find it reasonably easy to find properties on google maps. Look at the shape of the swimming pool, possibly dolphins etc in the tile design, wooded areas, colour of property etc, just use the clues in the pictures and then drop onto street view and have a walk around. When we were house hunting from the UK I managed to find every property we were interested in.

i agree cheryl that that is perfectly doable, but it is a faff. i would rather if i was selling a property, to allow general location info so as to attract as many people as possible, not just those who are quite computer savvy?

any estate agent listing a property in the UK (and many in Spain) do manage to put general locations in. i just think it's a vital bit of info when skimming thru lots of potential properties without having to then do a certain level of detective work.

maybe it's just me?? :)
