Have just bought a property in a Almoradi and am hiring cars from Alicante airport every visit. Would you advise buying a vehicle as I have heard there are car parks at the airport where you can leave your car whilst in the UK.

It took me 20 years to get around to buying my own car but in days gone by car hire was so cheap, wish I had done it before though, the hassle of car hire I can well do without.

And you are correct, there are lots of companies offering an annual parking service, everyone has their own favourite, personally I use Sunstar parking at €250 per annum, no waiting for shuttle buses, the car is waiting for you in the public car park and that's where you leave it at the end of your stay, works seamlessly.

We switched from hiring every time to buying a car ( after covid) when car hire prices went silly

Yes they have dropped down a bit but the hassle to stop them charging for ( a pre existing ) scratch got to me

It is so easy with your own car at the airport we use umbrella parking and are really pleased with them ( 2016 car so pay extra for under cover) but there is loads of choice for parking

I was originally going to spend 4,000-5,000 Eros but you get a 2010 car with 100,000 km on

But spent time and hunted round and got a 2016 Fiat Punto ( small) for 7,000 euro with 31,000 on

Also in some towns now have non polluting zones and you need a sticker for the car (5 euros from any post office) but older cars don’t qualify
