Fortunately, AENA have introduced a €1 maximum for water from the vending machines at Alicante (and other) airports.
Not as good as a free water fountain, but a step in the right direction.

About time! I have always been amazed how Alicante Airport (in the past) could charge anything around 3 euros for a bottle of water. It was so unfair as they had a captive audience when the liquids ban came in at security.
In Gatwick I can usually get a sandwich, yogurt and a big bottle if water or juice (meal deal) in Boots for £3.29.
Alicante have been taking liberties all this time in my opinion .
