I was in La Mata just before Christmas with partner....leaving 3 days before back to the UK. We then both had major c-19 symptoms. I have never had the flu in my life and rarely get a cold but this flattened us for 3 weeks when back in the UK. I am certain it was c-19 and am convinced this has been in Spain since late 2019. How these hotspots spring up, Italy, China is anyone's guess but this now cannot be contained. 100% will get it at some point. It's now as the common cold is to us. Just thought this might resonate with some as there was an odd and very widespread flu late 2019, early 2020 if you recall.

Back in La Mata now and can't buy hardware, paint, electrics. Off topic I know but I need something to do what with beaches, bars etc closed down.

I read with interest & without evidence, feel you are "on the nail". I believe this has been around before the dates previously explained including the WHO.

We shall see. I am looking with interest. I have the time! (up to now!). Thank you.

Hi Gary,

My husband and I were having a similar conversation this morning.

Between Christmas and New Year 2019, my husband developed a terrible cough.  He felt dreadful, stayed in bed for a day (unheard of in 36 years of marriage!) and slept in a spare bedroom for 3 nights, because his coughing was even worse when he was laying down.  He didn't have any cold symptoms, but ached all over and felt exhausted for a week.  It also took at least 3 weeks for the cough to finally leave him.  Fortunately, I didn't get it, but we had a couple of friends who reported the same symptoms in the first week of January.

It certainly makes you wonder......

Kind regards,

Kim

Me too (& many others from here & visiting from UK) during & a little before the same time. The only difference with me and others seem to be: a prolonged cough, & sniffle unlike a "common cold", even though feeling better but still tired.

I´m looking into it! (If I last that long, jajaja)

with best.

Yes exactly. I keep hearing these anecdotal stories but they all have the same theme, dates/symptoms etc. Hence it is named after

2019

not 20. At least you have had it and the stories of second infections are hearsay. Yet we are all in the dark here. I am going out on a limb here - and it's my opinion only......but in case the electric goes I would recommend a good supply of water, either fresh or a supply of water butts with non-scented bleach to disinfect the water in small parts

When the electric goes in Spain so does your water tap - remember that!!!!!

. Also, forget the meat. You will need gas, a gas stove even a small one. You will need dry-storable foods such as rice, pasta, noodles, tinned and any foods not needing electric

plus medicines but water and gas are vital if it hits the fan major as lack of electric will stop your water supply and end your ability to cook.

If you're living here invest in a gas BBQ and at least 2 gas bottles. You can use them if/when it blows over!

Your freezer/fridge supplies will rot. Just saying.....keep safe

Many are in apartments and do not face the sun for solar. The best way for most in this situation is gas and dry storable foods.

I am thinking of something most can action in the next week or so as things are moving fast.

You are lucky to have this setup but It is not the norm here.

Thanks for your input. Like yourself & many others are locked-in. (me with a sniffle). At the moment (day 3) as most others, will pass their days, not thinking about rotting food, the electricity failing, or a bar-b-q. If? in Month (3) we´ll start thinking along your lines. At the moment. I´m waiting to grab an opportunity & nip to the supermarket (day 4) as my restaurant´s closed, & I´m out of wine!.

Patience is a virtue, hope you find health & solace.

Regards.

Ah totally at one and with backup plans. However, if you told someone 1 month back this would be happening you would be put in the David Icke camp. Best to be early.....things moving fast daily. I have zero information that once stocks deplete there will be the infrastructure to replace supermarket stock. There is no guarantee. People need to watch out for themselves or help elderly neighbours. Do not look to the state. They have messed up all over the EU already. I see it the same way as health or holiday insurance. You might not need itbut if you do it's there.

Concur. I said similar comments on Thursday 12 (was that only 4 days ago???) people were saying in English & Spanish much the same.
